AUSTRALIA’S BIG-EYED ODDITY · the tail knob
A Series of Laugh and Grow
Real animals, reimagined plump and cheerful — painted in lifelike detail, sculpted impossibly cute.
Chubby & Full of Character
Rounded, soft and undeniably cute — yet every scale, wrinkle and marking is hand-painted true to the real animal. The reaction it gets in person is always the same: so detailed, and so adorable.
Ready to Display
A single, sturdy hand-painted piece — no assembly, no fuss. Set it on a desk or shelf and it holds its happy pose, ready to collect and show off.
Here is the knob-tailed gecko as the desert made it: banded and blotched in earthy desert tones, the pattern that lets it melt into the red sands of the Pilbara. Same enormous eyes, same odd little tail knob, same irresistible outback charm.
Dressed for the Desert
Its natural pattern of bands and mottling breaks up its outline against sand and stone, hiding this plump little gecko from sharp-eyed predators. The paintwork reproduces those earthy desert tones.
The Tail Knob
The species’ trademark is that tiny knob at the tail’s tip — a small, strange flourish whose purpose scientists still puzzle over, and the origin of its name.
Built for the Night
Huge lidless eyes gather what little light the desert night offers, helping it track down insects. By day it shelters in a cool burrow beneath the baking surface.
A Fierce Little Bluffer
Cornered, it stands tall on straight legs, sways and squeaks to look far more dangerous than a four-inch gecko could ever be — a giant personality in a pocket-sized body.
