BACK FROM THE BRINK · Grand Cayman blue
A Series of Laugh and Grow
Real animals, reimagined plump and cheerful — painted in lifelike detail, sculpted impossibly cute.
Chubby & Full of Character
Rounded, soft and undeniably cute — yet every scale, wrinkle and marking is hand-painted true to the real animal. The reaction it gets in person is always the same: so detailed, and so adorable.
Ready to Display
A single, sturdy hand-painted piece — no assembly, no fuss. Set it on a desk or shelf and it holds its happy pose, ready to collect and show off.
Found nowhere on Earth but the island of Grand Cayman, the blue iguana is a heavy, ancient-looking giant that turns a striking stony blue in the sun. It is also a miracle of conservation — a species that stood at the very edge of extinction and was pulled back.
Island Blue
Adults can shift to a vivid turquoise-blue, especially males in the breeding season — a color thought to help them signal to one another across the island’s rocky forests.
Down to a Handful
By the early 2000s, fewer than a couple dozen blue iguanas were thought to remain in the wild — the species was almost gone.
A Great Comeback
An intensive captive-breeding and release program has since restored the population to over a thousand, making the blue iguana a celebrated symbol of conservation success.
A Long-Lived Giant
Blue iguanas are among the longest-lived lizards, capable of passing sixty years — slow, ancient and dignified, here rounded into a plump island giant.
