Ready to Display

A single, sturdy piece that stands on its own included base — no assembly, no fuss. Set it on a desk or shelf and it holds its happy pose, ready to collect and show off.

Before the dazzling koi of today, there was the Asagi. One of the oldest varieties, it wears a serene blue-grey net across its back and a blush of red along its sides — a quiet, elegant fish that stands at the root of the entire koi family tree.

The Blue Net

Each scale on the Asagi’s back is edged in pale blue over a darker base, creating a crisp net or honeycomb pattern — one of the most prized and recognizable looks in all of koi. The paintwork reproduces that delicate reticulation scale by scale.

A Blush of Red

Below the blue, warm red-orange (hi) runs along the cheeks, sides and fin bases. That cool-and-warm balance is the Asagi’s signature, and the reason it has stayed beloved for generations.

The Ancestor of Koi

Many of today’s celebrated varieties trace their lineage back to the Asagi. To keep one is to keep a living piece of koi history — the fish where it all began.

Calm, Rounded Elegance

The Asagi’s beauty is quiet rather than flashy, which makes it a lovely fit for a plumped, peaceful figure — serene koi tradition, rounded into something you can set on a shelf.

“The quiet ancestor at the root of every koi pond.”
