World Encyclopedia of Animals

One volume, all bears. From the sea ice of the Arctic to the cloud forests of the Andes — a polar bear, a giant panda, a sun bear, an American black bear, a brown bear and the rarely seen Tibetan brown bear, joined by an Andean bear bonus figure. Museum-style trophy busts, hand-painted, each with a magnetic head that doubles as a fridge magnet, and together nearly the whole bear family on one shelf.

All Six, Plus a Free Andean Bear

The seventh figure is free with this set and isn’t sold on its own. Once this pre-order window closes, the set and its bonus are gone.

Tibetan Brown Bear

One of the least-seen bears on Earth, digging pikas from their burrows on the Tibetan Plateau. Many ‘yeti’ samples tested in 2017 turned out to be bears like this one.

Polar Bear

The only bear that counts as a marine mammal: black skin under see-through fur, paws as wide as a foot, and a life lived on the Arctic sea ice.

American Black Bear

North America’s most common bear, a champion tree climber, and the reason children everywhere sleep beside a teddy bear.

Giant Panda

A true bear that eats almost nothing but bamboo, with a ‘sixth finger’ to hold it. Born about the size of a stick of butter.

Brown Bear

One species, many names: grizzly, Kodiak and more. The most widespread bear on Earth, and the bear on the California flag, now long gone from that state.

Sun Bear

The world’s smallest bear, with a ten-inch tongue for honey and a golden chest patch as individual as a fingerprint.

Andean Bear

Vol.5’s bonus figure: South America’s only bear, with cream-colored ‘spectacles’ as individual as a fingerprint, and the real animal behind a storybook favorite.

The maker’s launch bonus for Vol.5, never to be reproduced. It comes only with the Complete Set.

The World Encyclopedia of Animals, one volume at a time.
