Ready to Display

A single, sturdy hand-painted piece — no assembly, no fuss. Set it on a desk or shelf and it holds its happy pose, ready to collect and show off.

No snake commits to a performance like the hognose. Faced with danger, this pint-sized digger will flatten a cobra-like hood, hiss, and false-strike — and if that fails, throw itself belly-up, tongue lolling, playing dead so convincingly it will flip back over if you turn it upright. This is the fiery ‘Extreme Red’ version.

The Shovel Snout

That distinctive upturned nose works like a spade, letting the hognose dig through loose prairie soil to burrow and to root out its favorite prey, toads. It gives the species its name and its permanently grumpy expression.

The Greatest Actor in the Grass

When bluffing fails, the hognose rolls onto its back, goes limp, opens its mouth and even emits a foul musk to complete the illusion of a rotting corpse — then flips right back if you set it upright, ruining its own performance.

All Bluff, No Danger

For all the theatrics, the western hognose is rear-fanged with a mild saliva that is essentially harmless to people. The drama is pure theater from a small, gentle snake.

Extreme Red

This morph has been bred toward intense red and orange tones, turning an already charming snake into a warm, glowing centerpiece — perfectly suited to a plump, cheerful figure.

“Hisses like a cobra, dies like a soap star, harms no one at all.”
