A LIVING FOSSIL · armored & ancient
A Series of Laugh and Grow
Real animals, reimagined plump and cheerful — painted in lifelike detail, sculpted impossibly cute.
Chubby & Full of Character
Rounded, soft and undeniably cute — yet every scale, wrinkle and marking is hand-painted true to the real animal. The reaction it gets in person is always the same: so detailed, and so adorable.
Ready to Display
A single, sturdy hand-painted piece — no assembly, no fuss. Set it on a desk or shelf and it holds its happy pose, ready to collect and show off.
Half fish, half crocodile in appearance, the alligator gar is one of North America’s largest and most ancient freshwater fish — a heavily armored survivor whose kind has patrolled rivers for over a hundred million years.
Dinosaur-Era Armor
Its body is sheathed in interlocking, diamond-shaped ganoid scales so hard they were once used as arrowheads — armor plating straight out of the age of dinosaurs.
The Alligator Snout
A broad, tooth-lined snout gives the gar its name and its crocodilian look, perfect for seizing fish with a sudden sideways snap of the jaws.
A Fish That Breathes Air
The alligator gar can gulp air at the surface using a specialized swim bladder, letting it survive in warm, low-oxygen water that would suffocate other fish.
Misunderstood Giant
Long feared and persecuted, the alligator gar is now recognized as a harmless-to-humans and ecologically vital predator — here rounded into a friendly, armored heavyweight.
