The S.H.Figuarts 飛影 (Hiei) is the newest YuYu Hakusho figure from BANDAI SPIRITS’ collector brand TAMASHII NATIONS. It follows the line’s 蔵馬 (Kurama) release. It’s scheduled for September 2026 at 9,900 yen (appx. $66), tax included.
The product is a 13.5 cm (appx. 5.3 in) action figure made of PVC and ABS. TAMASHII NATIONS produces it under the S.H.Figuarts line. It ships in September 2026 for 9,900 yen.
The Arm Is the Whole Story
The detail I keep coming back to is the swap arm with the black dragon coiled around it. In the Dark Tournament, Hiei’s right arm is where the story lives: bandaged to hold the Jaou Ensatsu Kokuryuha in check, then burned and blackened after he lets it out against Toguro’s brother Gama. A dragon wrapping that limb isn’t decoration. It’s the cost of the power, sculpted.
Flat Ink Into Real Volume
Togashi drew Hiei’s dragon as a flat swirl of ink and speed lines, which is hard to turn into plastic. The giant dragon-head effect part has to fake motion with mass alone, so the coil thickness and the jaw angle matter more than paint. From the promo shots, the purple-to-black gradient looks restrained rather than glossy. That’s the right call. Hiei’s flames are dark, not festive.
Fifteen Faces for a Guy Who Barely Makes One
The face parts, swap hair and an unwrapped Jagan headband combine into 15 expressions. That’s funny for a character whose default is a scowl. Still, the third-eye reveal is the face fans will actually use. The Jagan is why he’s here at all, installed to find his mother Hina’s lost tear gem.
The Sword and the Benchmark
The Jaou Ensatsu Ken flame sword rounds out the effects. Medicos’ Super Figure Action line set the bar for anime figures that pose like the panels and still feel solid. Figuarts usually wins on effect parts and price. At 9,900 yen, this one looks like it wins on both.
There’s also a sleeping face meant to pair with the separately sold Yusuke, recreating Hiei passed out after the fight. I like that it’s there. It’s the one quiet moment Hiei gets.
The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Hiei answers almost everything with ‘Hn,’ and every single one means something different. This figure gives me fifteen faces for 9,900 yen, which comes to 660 yen per ‘Hn.’ Finally, I’m fluent in Hiei.
How to tell your wife: Hiei watched over Yukina for the whole series and never once told her he was her brother. Real devotion stays quiet, which is why you’re only hearing about this figure now. That’s how much I love you.
How to tell your parents: You always told me to sit with the kid who’s eating lunch alone. Kurama has been standing on my shelf by himself, and Hiei has been his partner since the very first arc. You raised me right.
How to tell your kids: Hiei’s headband hides the Jagan, a third eye that can see across entire worlds. This figure comes with a headband-off face, and only I decide which one he wears. Check his forehead before you open the cookie jar.
Hiei has always been the fan favorite who got shortchanged by merchandise that showed the scowl and skipped the scar tissue, and this figure finally sculpts the price he paid for that dragon. If YuYu Hakusho shaped how you think a cool character should carry himself, this is the Figuarts that belongs next to Kurama.
