The Definitive Full Armor ZZ Gundam Arrives Under Ver. Ka Supervision

The Next Iteration in the Ver. Ka Lineup

I’ve been following the development of this kit closely. BANDAI SPIRITS’ HOBBY division is preparing to launch the “MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver. Ka” on February 21, 2026. This release continues the evolution of the ZZ Gundam design language, following the excellent work done on the Enhanced ZZ Gundam and the FAZZ Ver. Ka kits.

A History of Enhancement

The MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam, while powerful, was always noted for its structural compromises due to its transformation and combination mechanics. The creation of the Full Armor version was a direct response to the escalating power of the Neo Zeon forces, including the massive NZ-000 Queen Mansa.

Katoki Hajime’s Vision Realized

What makes this release significant is the complete supervision by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME. His approach, evident in previous Ver. Ka entries, is to meticulously adjust proportions to eliminate any sense of bulkiness, even when fully armored. The design allows builders to recreate both the Enhanced ZZ Gundam and the Full Armor ZZ Gundam configurations by swapping parts.

The kit utilizes core components derived from the Enhanced ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka and FAZZ Ver.Ka, but features new armor mold adjustments and connection parts to maintain a sharp, heroic silhouette. The inclusion of new decals and foil stickers for sensors and markings further solidifies the premium feel.

Attention to Detail

The level of engineering detail is precisely what you expect from a Ver. Ka kit. For the Full Armor configuration, builders have the option to choose between blue or white coloring for the abdominal armor, offering customization right out of the box. The signature Twin Barrel Beam Rifle can be held or mounted to the right arm.

Articulation points seem thoughtfully implemented, such as the swiveling joints in the forearms and the linkage mechanisms in the wrists that accommodate the added armor. Even the missile pods feature manual opening hatches with individually molded red warheads inside. The massive Quad Missile Pods can be swapped for the components needed to mount the “Hyper Mega Cannon” onto the shoulder, complete with articulated mounting points and a deployable hand grip underneath the barrel.
