Star Wars Trench Run Mini Scale Diorama by PCS

My shelf has no business hosting another spacecraft dogfight. The promise to close the wallet for the remainder of the season felt solid yesterday. Then Premium Collectible Studio opened pre-orders for the Trench Run Mini Scale Diorama by PCS. It recreates the finale of Star Wars: A New Hope for $275.00, scheduled to ship between October 2027 and December 2027.

PCS manufactures this standalone diorama under the official Star Wars license. It retails for $275.00 with fulfillment estimated between late 2027 and early 2028. The piece measures 9 inches (appx. 23 cm) tall and 14 inches (appx. 36 cm) wide.

Framing the Surface of the Death Star

Shadow box framing gives this sculpt an uncommon advantage in display density. Trench warfare in space usually demands massive dioramas that eat entire coffee tables. Instead, PCS confines the claustrophobic concrete-gray mechanical walls within a controlled 9-inch depth. The structural panels reproduce the chaotic surface greebles of the Imperial battlestation without spilling into excess horizontal footprint. Space remains precious.

Miniature Pursuits and Explosive Optics

A lone Rebel X-Wing Fighter skims the narrow corridor while Darth Vader leads a trio of Imperial TIE Fighters right on its thrusters. Sculpting ships at this miniature scale risks soft edges, but PCS maintains tight geometry across every cockpit hatch and radiator wing panel. The scene freezes right on a bursting strike. A flickering LED light illuminates the exploding star-craft, wired to draw direct current via an included AC adapter rather than fading batteries.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This

The Collector Math: The Empire spent who knows how many trillions on a Death Star that died because of one two-meter exhaust port. PCS sells me the entire Trench Run for $275, and it plugs into the wall like a responsible appliance. I’m already a better space-station investor than the Emperor.

How to tell your wife: Luke switched off his targeting computer and still hit a two-meter target. I’m switching off my shopping cart after exactly one item. Trust the Force, babe.

How to tell your parents: Uncle Owen told Luke to stay on the farm one more season, and Luke saved the galaxy anyway. I’m not saying you’re Uncle Owen. I’m saying it ships in late 2027, so I’m already waiting the season.

How to tell your kids: This is the Death Star trench, and the whole station blew up because somebody left one tiny hole open. That’s why we close the fridge door all the way. Rebels are everywhere.

PCS executed an efficient framing trick by turning the Death Star trench into a contained shadow box display piece. If you want four miniature starships frozen mid-pursuit without losing an entire desk surface, it earns its footprint cleanly.
