Starfleet collectors get ready to set coordinates. The Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu Sixth Scale Figure by EXO-6 brings the Enterprise helmsman into sharp focus for $240.00 USD, scheduled to ship between January 2027 and March 2027. If you grew up watching George Takei steer through Romulan minefields and navigate uncharted nebulae, this release hits right in the nostalgia.
This is a 1/6 scale articulated figure of Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu from Star Trek: The Original Series. Manufactured by EXO-6 and distributed via Sideshow, the release window is January 2027 to March 2027 with a retail price of $240.00 USD. The piece stands 11.81 inches (30 cm) tall and features fabric tailoring, modular equipment, and a themed transporter base.
The Portrait and Bridge Demeanor
EXO-6 captures George Takei during his prime Original Series bridge shifts with a hand-painted head sculpt showing his focused stare and slight, confident smirk. The neatly groomed hair and realistic eye paint bring out Sulu’s trademark composure under pressure. You can almost hear his deep voice reporting orbital coordinates to Captain Kirk while red alert klaxons sound across deck five.
Landing Party Gear and High-End Craft
The gear package provides genuine tactile interaction for Original Series purists. Sulu carries a Type I hand phaser that docks right into the Type II pistol housing, just like the real prop functioned back on the Desilu soundstages. When stacked up against high-end historical benchmarks from Hot Toys, the tailoring on the black uniform trousers and high boots holds clean seams without bunching awkwardly around the knee joints.
Bridge Maneuvers on the Transporter Pad
The underlying articulated body offers more than 30 points of articulation, giving collectors complete freedom to recreate Sulu’s calm hand-on-helm pose or aggressive away-team sweeps. Between the precise wrist joints and solid foot pegs, he holds steady whether pointing his sidearm or reporting back to the ship.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Sulu famously survived a five-year mission on the bridge facing Klingons, Romulans, and godlike entities across seventy-nine televised episodes. That breaks down to barely three dollars per broadcast crisis to put Starfleet’s steadiest helmsman on my shelf. I’m practically under-budget for galactic defense.
How to tell your wife: Sideshow guarantees this 11.81-inch Starfleet helmsman will not ship until at least January 2027. I preordered a commissioned Federation navigator to properly chart our household errands because our weekend driving trajectory requires professional supervision. We are boldly going to the grocery store.
How to tell your parents: You always taught me that attending a prestigious academy and securing a military commission guarantees a stable future. EXO-6 priced this fully ranked Starfleet Lieutenant at exactly $240, which completely bypasses four years of tuition. I finally got an officer in the family.
How to tell your kids: Sideshow enforced a strict legal limit of exactly six Starfleet helmsmen per civilian household. If your hands even graze this 11.81-inch Lieutenant, Federation Command will flag you as a hostile alien entity. Your dessert rations will be beamed directly into the neutral zone.
EXO-6 delivers a respectful, highly detailed tribute that captures George Takei’s charisma and Starfleet dignity on every front. For any Original Series bridge crew lineup, this Sulu earns his spot at the controls without a moment of hesitation.
