The Nendoroid Large Godzilla (2016) is Good Smile Company’s supersized chibi take on the Godzilla from Shin Godzilla, and it starts shipping on October 27, 2026. The price is JPY 19,800 (appx. $132). I’ll admit it: the most unsettling Godzilla ever put on film, rebuilt as something you’d call adorable, is a joke I can’t stop enjoying.
Nendoroid Large Godzilla (2016) is a painted plastic, non-scale articulated figure made by Good Smile Company, sculpted by Nendoron, and part of the Shin Godzilla series. It stands approximately 195mm (appx. 7.7 in) tall and includes a stand. Preorders ran from August 20 to September 30, 2026 (JST), shipping begins October 27, 2026, and purchases are limited to 3 per person.
Which Godzilla This Actually Is
This is the 2016 Godzilla from Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi’s Shin Godzilla, specifically the towering final form that marches through Tokyo after the creature keeps evolving on the way in. That’s the design with the stiff, wounded posture, the dark body cracked with glowing red, and those tiny, blank eyes that made audiences deeply uncomfortable. Nendoron keeps the cracked texture and the long tail but rounds the whole thing into Nendoroid proportions, so the menace turns into something closer to a sulky toddler who just got woken up.

Sculpt and Paint at 195mm
Shin Godzilla’s skin reads like scar tissue, and that’s tricky to shrink without it turning to mud. At almost 20 cm, Nendoron has room for the ridges and the reddish seams to read clearly from shelf distance. Good Smile notes the paintwork is partly done by hand, so expect some variation between pieces, which honestly suits a creature whose whole look is irregular and raw. If you’ve seen how X-Plus handles Toho kaiju texture on its big vinyl pieces, that’s the standard I’d hold this up against, and from the prototype photos the red seam paint looks like it’s aiming in that direction.
Articulation and the Stand
This one is articulated, and that matters more than usual, because the 2016 Godzilla is famous for barely moving its upper body at all. Being able to tilt the head down into that blank, pitiless stare is the pose I’d go for first. The included stand should help with balance, since that tail is long and Nendoroid bodies tend to tip when you get ambitious.

Next to the Standard Nendoroid
Good Smile shows this figure posed beside the regular Nendoroid Godzilla (2016), which is sold separately, and the size jump is the whole pitch. Putting the two side by side quietly recreates the movie’s evolution gag, the creature growing every time you look away. That’s a display idea I like more than any accessory pack could deliver.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Japan’s plan to stop Shin Godzilla needed concrete pump trucks, trains packed with explosives and an emergency cabinet. Good Smile contains the exact same monster in one box for ¥19,800, stand included. Per Godzilla, I’m more fiscally responsible than the Japanese government.
How to tell your wife: In Shin Godzilla, the prime minister announced the monster couldn’t possibly come ashore, and it crawled ashore while he was still at the podium. You can absolutely announce that he’s not coming into this house, babe. He ships Tuesday.
How to tell your parents: Mom, you always told me not to fill my room with huge things. In the movie, Godzilla is 118.5 meters tall, and I talked him down to 20 centimeters. That’s the most responsible downsizing in family history.
How to tell your kids: This is Shin Godzilla, and anything that comes at him from above gets lasers fired out of his back. Look at him from the front all you want, but nobody reaches over him. The air force already tried that.
If you loved how strange and sad the 2016 Godzilla felt, this 195mm version earns its shelf space by turning that frozen, staring final form into a gentle joke without sanding off the cracked red skin. I’m watching the October 27 ship date, and we’ll update this when more retail availability is confirmed.
