Why a Pumpkin Works Here
I like that Fools Paradise skipped the easy route of a costume slapped onto a generic figure and built the idea around the pumpkin itself. A jack-o’-lantern is the one Halloween object everybody recognizes from across the room, so it reads instantly on a shelf. The name points at the teal-haired virtual singer fans already know, and pairing her with the most short-lived decoration of the season is a fun bit of irony. Official licensing details beyond the name are not yet announced, so I’d keep an eye on that.
Vinyl and PVC: What That Mix Usually Means
The build is vinyl and PVC, which is the standard pairing for art toys that need a soft, rounded body and crisp, firmer details. Vinyl takes a smooth matte or satin finish well, and that’s exactly what a pumpkin skin needs to look warm instead of plasticky. The benchmark I’d hold it to is Medicom Toy’s vinyl work, where the paint sits clean on every curve with no fuzzy edges where colors meet. Whether this one hits that bar is something I can’t judge from a prototype showcase.
The Honest Open Questions
Here’s my main hesitation: no height, no scale and no release date have been announced. That’s a lot of blanks for a $128 pre-order, and the shop also notes that the final product may differ slightly from the prototype. I’m watching for a size announcement before I’d form a firm opinion on value. We’ll update this when those details land.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Miku is famous for her floor-length teal twin tails, and she has exactly two. At $128, that’s $64 a pigtail, and Fools Paradise throws in the rest of her plus a whole pumpkin. Buy two pigtails, get a pop star free.
How to tell your wife: Babe, Fools Paradise charges $100 to ship Miku here but only $50 to ship her to Japan, where she’s from. I could have moved to Japan and saved fifty bucks on the spot. I stayed for you.
How to tell your parents: Mom, you always told me to start thinking about my future. Hatsune Miku’s name literally means ‘the first sound of the future,’ and for $128 she showed up in a pumpkin costume right on time for Halloween. I’m finally listening.
How to tell your kids: This is Pumpkin Miku, and the apostrophe in Halloween 26′ is the symbol for feet, so she’s officially 26 feet tall. Look all you want, but she’s only crouching to fit on our shelf. Touch her and she stands up through the roof.
Pumpkin Miku // Halloween 26′ has a smart, instantly readable concept, and I like it more than most seasonal releases because the pumpkin is the design rather than a costume. Still, with no size or ship date announced, final-sale terms and up to $100 in shipping, I’d wait for the height reveal unless the pumpkin-Miku idea already has you smiling.
