Order Up! Dream Tomica is Serving a Second Round of Delicious Sushi Cars

Man, I thought the first wave of these was a total masterpiece, but TAKARA TOMY is really doubling down on the deliciousness! They just announced the Dream Tomica Sushi Series Part 2 (also known as Sushi Tomica Sono Ni), and honestly, my toy shelf is starting to look like a high-end conveyor belt sushi restaurant. If you’re like me and love toys that look good enough to eat, you’re going to lose it over these.

Look at the detail on these bad boys! We aren’t just talking about a hunk of plastic on wheels. The ‘rice’ base actually features individual grain textures to mimic real sushi vinegar rice. And get this—if you peek inside, there’s actually a tiny rice-shaped steering wheel and rice-grain seats! It’s that kind of geeky attention to detail that makes me absolutely love being a collector. Even the wheels are colored like light brown soy sauce to keep the theme going.

This second wave is serving up six new ‘flavors’ to add to your garage: Salmon, Octopus, Salmon Roe (Ikura), Medium Fatty Tuna (Chutoro), Seared Squid, and Corn.

Each one comes with its own unique sushi plate stand so you can park your favorite ‘nigiri’ in style. It’s super cute how the plates are color-coded to the ingredients!

I’m personally a sucker for the Salmon Roe one—look at how those little translucent orbs catch the light! It looks so realistic it’s dangerous to display while hungry.

It’s going to be a bit of a wait since these don’t officially hit the streets until March 2026, but hey, good things (and good sushi) come to those who wait, right? Time to start clearing some space between the ramen trucks and the burger vans!
