How we calculate Shelf Worth
Only real sales. Every number comes from completed sales of that exact design. We never use asking prices.
The middle price, not the average. We use a median, so one unusually high or low sale can’t swing the number.
Enough sales, or no number. When a design has too few recent sales, we look further back. If there still aren’t enough, we show “Not enough sales data yet”. We would rather show nothing than a made-up number. Each line on your Worth page tells you how many sales it’s based on.
Clean data. We leave out lots and bundles, sealed cases, damaged or custom pieces, accessories, and listings that look fake.
Sources, shown separately. Recorded market sales and IFiDEA’s own sales are never blended into one number. Where no sale is on record we may show what a piece is listed at right now, clearly marked and never counted in your total.
Your total = quantity × the latest price for each lit design. Prices refresh weekly; your total is saved daily, so the 7-day change is real, not estimated.
Designs without a dollar market (many single Sonny Angel figures) will show a swap rate instead once Shelf Swap opens — what people actually trade them for.
Method version v1 · Nothing here is financial advice · IFiDEA sells some of these items, and we say so on every line that uses our own sales.
