BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS division has announced the latest addition to their famous METAL BUILD line with a new sub-series, METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE. This series introduces the “Sirbine Knight Commander” figure from the classic anime Aura Battler Dunbine. Scheduled for release in December 2024, this figure will retail for approximately ¥35,200 JPY (approximately $250 USD).
Sirbine is well-known among Aura Battler Dunbine fans as a spiritual successor to the original Dunbine mecha. Although it never appeared in the anime, Sirbine has been featured in various video games such as Super Robot Wars. The initial concept for Sirbine closely resembled Dunbine’s successor, Billbine. However, due to sponsor demands for a more mechanical design to boost model sales, Billbine’s design was modified, much to the dismay of director Yoshiyuki Tomino and his team.
