JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Machiboke Stardust Crusaders 02 Brings DIO and Iggy to the Waiting Line

Bandai's GASHAPON Machiboke line returns to Stardust Crusaders with Kakyoin, Avdol, Iggy and DIO as 4.5 cm figures that sulk while they wait.

ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 まちぼうけ スターダストクルセイダース02 (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Machiboke Stardust Crusaders 02) is a capsule figure set from Bandai’s GASHAPON division. It’s based on Part 3 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Stardust Crusaders. It’s scheduled for the third week of April 2026 at 500 yen (appx. $3.30) per capsule. And yes, DIO has to wait in line now.

The set contains four figures, each about 4.5 cm (appx. 1.8 in) tall. The characters are Noriaki Kakyoin (花京院典明), Mohammed Avdol, Iggy and DIO. It follows the first wave, which covered Jotaro Kujo and Joseph Joestar.

A Line Built on Sulking

The Machiboke (まちぼうけ) concept is simple. Every character is stuck waiting, posed seated or slumped with a face that says the bus is late. That turns Araki’s flamboyant, angular poses into compact little lumps. It’s funny because these men usually strike poses on purpose.

Kakyoin and Avdol Get the Sad Faces

The design team gave Kakyoin and Avdol aggrieved, put-upon expressions. That fits. Kakyoin is the polite transfer student who keeps getting dragged into chaos, and Avdol spends half of Part 3 being underestimated. The 2D-to-3D squash works best on Kakyoin’s long uniform coat, which compresses into a solid green block with the fringe kept as the one sharp shape on his head.

DIO and Iggy Bring the Attitude

DIO and Iggy go the other way, with openly annoyed faces. A vampire who waited a century in a sealed coffin shouldn’t enjoy queueing, and he clearly doesn’t. Iggy, a dog who refuses to help anyone without coffee gum, looks exactly as cooperative as he did in the anime. That contrast is the real selling point.

Paint, Volume and the Benchmark

At 500 yen, expect flat, clean paint rather than gradient work. Faces are printed, and the line sinks or swims on whether eye prints sit centered. For comparison, Good Smile’s Nendoroid line uses tampo-printed faces at many times the price, and the Machiboke sample photos show alignment in that same ballpark. The chunky sculpt volume also hides seam lines better than slimmer capsule figures do.

Shelf Planning

This wave is meant to sit beside the first. Line Jotaro and Joseph up front, put Kakyoin and Avdol behind them, and leave DIO at the far end glaring at everyone. I’d park Iggy on a ledge above the group. He wouldn’t share a bench anyway.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This

The Collector Math: The Stardust Crusaders spent fifty days crossing half the planet by plane, ship and camel just to get to DIO. I got to him at a capsule machine for 500 yen, which is ten yen per day of their trip. Honestly, I’m the most efficient Crusader ever.

How to tell your wife: Bandai’s whole Machiboke line is JoJo characters seated and slumped, sulking because the wait is taking forever. DIO can literally stop time, and he’s still making the exact face I make outside every fitting room at the mall. Honestly, it’s a self-portrait.

How to tell your parents: You always told me to get professional advice before I spend money. Avdol is a professional fortune teller from Cairo, and a session with him costs exactly one 500-yen capsule. He says he sees a DIO in my future.

How to tell your kids: This is Kakyoin, and his Stand can string an invisible web of threads across a 20-meter radius that feels anything that moves. Our whole house fits inside that radius, so you can look all you want, but reaching for the shelf trips the web. Yes, he felt that.

The joke of this line only works if the whole crew shows up, and with DIO now sulking at the end of the queue, the Stardust Crusaders lineup finally feels complete. I’m still holding out for Polnareff, because a waiting line without him complaining is missing its loudest member.
