The Sheena & Mimi Collectible Figure by Kotobukiya is up for pre-order, and it’s one of the gentler scale pieces I’ve seen announced this year. It comes from the TV anime I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day and costs $270. Expected shipping runs from August 2027 to January 2028.
The Sheena & Mimi Collectible Figure by Kotobukiya is a 1:8 scale figure of Sheena Totsuki and Mimi Kagari from I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day. It stands 4.72 inches (12 cm) tall and includes a flower crown accessory. The price is $270 USD, with shipping expected between August 2027 and January 2028 and a limit of six per person.
A Quiet Scene, Not a Battle Pose
I’ll say it plainly: I like that Kotobukiya skipped the action shot. Mimi sits on the grass laughing, and Sheena holds her gently, which is a much braver choice for a series where calm moments feel borrowed. The sculpt leans on their gazes and the way their hands touch, so the emotion lives in small angles rather than big gestures. That restraint fits these two better than any weapon pose could.
Hair, Fabric and That Flower Crown
The detail I keep coming back to is the flower crown Sheena gave Mimi. It isn’t fixed in place, so you can set it on Mimi’s head, in Sheena’s hands or on the grass between them. Kotobukiya also calls out flowing hair and soft wrinkles in the clothes, and at 12 cm that kind of fabric work is where a duo piece wins or loses. Keep in mind the photos show a prototype, so the final production piece may look a bit different.
Materials and How It Stacks Up
The build mixes ABS, PVC, metal and acrylic, which is a fuller material list than you’d expect on a seated two-figure scene this size. For a benchmark, think of how Alter handles soft shading on its 1:8 scale anime pieces; that’s the bar a calm, close-up composition like this has to clear, because there’s no dramatic effect part to hide behind. Kotobukiya’s sculpt team is credited here rather than a named sculptor. I’d want to see final paint on the skin tones before I’d call it Alter-level, but the composition already gives it a head start.
The Pre-Order Window
The big thing to plan around is time. The expected ship window is August 2027 to January 2028, and the listing notes it may ship as late as April 2028. Payment plans are offered, and the item ships after your final payment. I’m watching for final paint photos, and we’ll update this if the schedule moves.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: This anime’s title, I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day, is nine words long. At $270, that’s exactly $30 a word, and Kotobukiya throws in Sheena and Mimi for free. Honestly, ‘Love’ alone is worth thirty bucks.
How to tell your wife: Kotobukiya is named after kotobuki, the Japanese word for congratulations that goes on wedding gift envelopes. This figure is Sheena and Mimi, an actual couple, so it’s legally a wedding gift. Happy anniversary, babe; it arrives in 2027.
How to tell your parents: Mom, you always said my generation can’t wait for anything. Sheena and Mimi ship between August 2027 and January 2028, and Sideshow says maybe even April 2028. I’m passing the marshmallow test, and the marshmallow costs $270.
How to tell your kids: This is Sheena and Mimi, two girls who refuse to be separated, so they come as one figure. You can look all you want, but never put a finger in the space between them. In this house, nobody third-wheels.
If you want a scale piece that captures a quiet moment instead of a loud one, this duo and its movable flower crown make a strong case at $270. The long ship window is the real cost, so pre-order only if you’re comfortable waiting into 2028.
