The KAIZER GHIDORAH Action Figure by Tamashii Nations is the newest S.H.MonsterArts release from Godzilla: Final Wars, and it’s up for pre-order now at $360. It’s expected to ship between May 2027 and July 2027. I’ll be honest: this is the Ghidorah I’ve wanted in the line since the movie came out.
The KAIZER GHIDORAH Action Figure is an S.H.MonsterArts action figure made by Tamashii Nations, based on the final monster in Godzilla: Final Wars. It measures 25 cm (appx. 9.8 in) tall, 32 cm (appx. 12.6 in) wide and 55 cm (appx. 21.7 in) long, and it’s made of ABS and PVC. The price is $360, with shipping expected from May 2027 to July 2027 and a limit of 6 per person.
The Final Wars Finale, Frozen in Gold
If you saw Final Wars, you remember the moment: Monster X, battered by Godzilla in the ruins of Tokyo, cracks open and becomes Keizer Ghidorah, a squat, golden, four-legged brute instead of the usual sleek dragon. Tamashii Nations worked from suit reference for this one, and you can see it in the weighty torso and the scale texture running across the body. That chunky stance is the whole point of this design, and I’m glad they didn’t slim it down into a classic Ghidorah with a new paint job.
Three Heads, Three Moods
Each of the three heads gets its own expression, which matters more than it sounds on a figure where all three necks will be posed at once. Matching heads look like a costume; different snarls make it read as one animal with three tempers. The base is gold, as it should be, and the thin bluish lines across the body are painted rather than molded, so they should hold up under shelf lighting instead of washing out.
Size and the Belly Trick
At 55 cm (appx. 21.7 in) long, this is a shelf commitment, not a filler piece. Tamashii says the body keeps a wide range of motion without wrecking the proportions, and there’s a pull-out mechanism plus an opening and closing gimmick in the abdomen so you can set up that roaring pose. I’d put this sculpt work in the same conversation as X-Plus’s big Toho vinyls for surface texture, with the difference that this one actually moves.
The Pre-Order Reality Check
The listed window is May to July 2027, but the retailer notes it may ship through October 2027, so plan your patience accordingly. The pictures are of a prototype, and the final paint could shift a little. We’ll update this preview if Tamashii shows production samples before then.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: King Ghidorah has three heads, so at $360 I’m paying $120 a head. I let all three vote on it, and it passed two to one. The head that voted no can pay its own $120.
How to tell your wife: Back in 1964, it took Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra all teaming up to stop King Ghidorah, and he still got away. You’re only one person, and the $360 preorder is already in. Honestly, I like my chances.
How to tell your parents: Dad, you always told me to finish what I start. Keizer Ghidorah is the final boss of a movie literally called Godzilla: Final Wars, and he ships in mid-2027. Once he lands, my collection is officially complete.
How to tell your kids: You can look at Keizer Ghidorah all you want, but his big move in Final Wars was latching onto Godzilla and draining his energy. Touch him, and he drains yours until you suddenly need a nap. That’s where naps come from.
For $360 you’re getting the strangest, heaviest-looking Ghidorah Toho ever put on screen, three distinct faces and a working belly gimmick, which feels like fair value for a 55 cm centerpiece. If Final Wars is your guilty-pleasure Godzilla movie the way it’s mine, this earns its shelf space; if you only like the classic slim Ghidorah, this squat gold bruiser probably won’t convert you.
