How to get SDCC badges
SDCC badges are sold online in two sales through a randomized waiting room. You need a free, verified Comic-Con Member ID first, and getting a badge is not guaranteed.
At the door: No, buy online. Details
1Before the sale
- Create a free Comic-Con Member ID (one per person, with its own email) and enter the email verification code. Unverified accounts can't buy in any badge sale.
- In your Member ID account, opt in to marketing emails so you get the badge-sale announcement, and add [email protected] as an approved sender.
- Before the sale, save a Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Amex card (PayPal isn't accepted) and note the Member ID and exact last name of anyone you're buying for.
- Use a laptop or desktop with an up-to-date browser. Turn off VPN, privacy relay and sleep mode.
2Sale day
- Returning Registration (Oct 17, 2026) was only for people who bought a Comic-Con 2026 badge. Everyone else buys in Open Registration on Nov 14, 2026.
- Enter the waiting room from the Member ID portal before the start time. Everyone in the room at the start is put in random order, so arriving earlier doesn't help.
- Use one browser on one device and don't refresh the waiting room.
- If you're selected, you get a 15-minute session to pick your days and check out. Preview Night is only sold together with all four days, Thursday to Sunday.
3After you buy
- Kids 12 and under don't need a Member ID. Register them on-site, up to two per paid adult.
- Badges can't be transferred, and the name must match a photo ID. Refunds are possible until May 6, 2027, minus a 10% fee.
!Common mistakes
- The Member ID email was never verified, so the account can't buy.
- Joining the waiting room after the start time puts you at the back of the line.
- Refreshing, using a phone or tablet, or using a VPN can drop you from the waiting room.
- The 15-minute session runs out before checkout, and you go back to the end of the line.
- A typo in a friend's Member ID or last name stops the purchase.
- More than one Member ID per person can get all of that person's accounts and badges cancelled.
