The Yumia Liessfeldt (Sun Shower Version) Collectible Figure by Kotobukiya brings the heroine of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land to your shelf as a scale figure. It’s priced at USD $200 and is expected to ship between October and December 2027. I’ll be honest: the puddle base is what got me, before I’d even noticed the rest.
The Yumia Liessfeldt (Sun Shower Version) Collectible Figure is a 26 cm (appx. 10.24 in) figure made by Kotobukiya and based on an original illustration by Benitama. It costs USD $200, is limited to 6 per person, and is expected to ship from October to December 2027, with arrival possible through March 2028. Materials are ABS, PVC and iron.
Benitama’s Rainy Day, Turned Solid
The figure starts from Benitama’s art, and the caption Kotobukiya pairs with it says it all: “I got caught in a sun shower…” If you’ve played Atelier Yumia, you know Yumia as the young alchemist working in a land where alchemy is treated with suspicion, so a quiet moment of her just getting rained on feels like a welcome break from all that weight. I like that the pose sells an ordinary second instead of a battle stance.
The Wet Fabric Problem, Solved in PVC
Sculpting cloth that’s dry and draped is one skill. Sculpting cloth that’s soaked and clinging is a much harder one, because the folds have to flatten and bunch where water would pull them, and Kotobukiya leans right into that challenge. The folds follow the lines of her figure closely, with glimpses of skin through the fabric, which pushes this into the mature, fan-service side of the hobby, so know what you’re signing up for if she’s going on a living-room shelf. This is a prototype, so I’m watching how the final paint handles that damp sheen before I call it.

A Puddle That Reflects the Sky
The base gets an iridescent finish meant to look like a puddle catching the sky after rain, and this is the choice I keep coming back to. A sun shower is literally rain with the sun still out, so a base that shimmers instead of sitting there flat and gray is the right call for the title. It also gives a 26 cm figure some visual footprint without adding props she doesn’t need.

Where Kotobukiya Sits on the Shelf
At $200 for about 10 inches, this lands in the same neighborhood as Alter’s game-heroine scale figures, the brand a lot of us hold up as the standard for fabric and skin finishes. Kotobukiya has a long track record with game licenses, and the iron listed in the materials suggests some structural support, which matters for a slender pose standing on a slick base. If the production paint holds up to the prototype, this one can sit next to the pricier names without blushing.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: For centuries, alchemists tried to turn plain metal into gold, and every single one of them failed. Kotobukiya took some iron, ABS and PVC and turned it into a $200 alchemist. Nobody walks away from the first alchemy that actually works.
How to tell your wife: This is Yumia, Sun Shower Version, which means sunny and raining at the same time. That’s exactly how you look every time a box shows up at the door for me. I couldn’t let a stranger own your portrait.
How to tell your parents: Mom, you always told me memories matter more than stuff. So I skipped the stuff and spent $200 on the Alchemist of Memories herself. This is the least materialistic thing I’ve ever bought.
How to tell your kids: This is Yumia, and like every Atelier alchemist, she picks up whatever’s lying on the ground and turns it into alchemy ingredients. That’s why your toys go back in the bin before bed. Anything left on the floor overnight is ingredients.

If you’re an Atelier Yumia fan who’s fine with the mature tone, Benitama’s sun shower moment and that iridescent puddle base make a strong case for $200 of shelf space. I’m watching how the final paint on the wet fabric compares to the prototype, and we’ll update this when more details surface.
