The Godzilla (2001) Vinyl Collectible by ACRO is up for pre-order now at $498, with shipping expected between June and August 2027. It’s part of ACRO’s new Godzilla Remix Series, sculpted by RYO (Nendo Seijin), and it takes on the white-eyed Godzilla from Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, the 2001 film fans just call GMK. I’ve wanted a big, serious take on this design for years, so I’m paying attention.
The Godzilla (2001) Vinyl Collectible is a 39 cm (appx. 15.16 in) vinyl figure of Godzilla from the 2001 film, produced by ACRO and sculpted by RYO (Nendo Seijin). It is expected to ship from June to August 2027. The price is $498 USD, with a limit of 6 per person.
Why the GMK Design Deserves This Treatment
GMK Godzilla is the one with no pupils, just blank white eyes, and that single choice turns a familiar monster into something closer to a ghost story. A sculptor has to carry that menace through posture and texture alone, since the eyes won’t do the emoting for him. RYO’s reputation is built on exactly that kind of read, where the hide, the hunch and the jaw tell you the mood before you even look at the face.

U-Vinyl: Sofubi With Statue Manners
The interesting tech story here is ACRO’s U-Vinyl process, a burn-out mold method meant to keep the fine textures of the original sculpt that classic sofubi tends to soften. Traditional soft vinyl is lovable partly because it’s a little mushy around the edges, and I’ll admit I have a soft spot for that. If ACRO pulls this off, you get the warm, slightly hollow charm of vinyl with detail density closer to a Prime 1 Studio statue, which is a bold claim and one I’ll judge when final production photos show up. Keep in mind the current images are a prototype, so the finished piece may differ.
Scale and Shelf Planning
At 39 cm, this Godzilla is tall enough to anchor a shelf rather than share one politely. I’d put him at the center of a Millennium-era Godzilla run, with smaller figures of Mothra, Baragon or King Ghidorah grouped at his feet so the GMK lineup reads as one scene. Leave him some breathing room behind the tail, because a crowded backdrop flattens that hunched silhouette fast.

The Price Conversation
$498 sits in high-end statue territory, so ACRO is betting that collectors will pay statue money for vinyl if the detail holds up. That’s a fair bet for a design this beloved, especially with the 2001 film hitting its 25th anniversary this year. I’m watching the ship window closely, and we’ll update this piece when final production images appear.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: In GMK, Japan wakes up three ancient guardian monsters to stop this Godzilla, and he goes through Baragon, Mothra and King Ghidorah anyway. I’m keeping him under control on one shelf for $498, which is $166 per guardian. Japan should have just called a collector.
How to tell your wife: Babe, the 2001 Godzilla movie ignores every sequel and only counts the 1954 original, and fans love it for that. I’m running the same continuity on our shelf. This is my first Godzilla; the rest are non-canon.
How to tell your parents: Dad, you always said real collectors buy vinyl, not streams. This 2001 Godzilla is 39 centimeters of genuine vinyl, bigger than any record in your collection. It only plays one track, and it’s a roar.
How to tell your kids: This is the 2001 Godzilla, and his eyes are solid white, so nobody can ever tell where he’s looking. You may look at him, but don’t touch the shelf or the cookie jar, because he might be watching either one. No pupils means no blind spots.

If the U-Vinyl process really delivers RYO’s textures at 39 cm, this could be the definitive way to put the white-eyed GMK Godzilla on a shelf. I’d hold my judgment on the $498 until production shots confirm the prototype detail survives, but the design and the sculptor are exactly the right pairing.
