Hot Toys has just announced the Tony Stark (1970s Suit Version) Sixth Scale Figure, a Marvel release that Sideshow says is coming soon. The release window and the price haven’t been announced yet, and Sideshow is taking RSVPs for now.
The Tony Stark (1970s Suit Version) Sixth Scale Figure is a sixth scale Marvel figure of Tony Stark made by Hot Toys and distributed by Sideshow. The price and the pre-order date have not been announced.
Why We’re Watching This One
I’m reading the name as a nod to the Avengers: Endgame time heist. That’s the trip to 1970 at Camp Lehigh, where Tony swaps the armor for a period suit and ends up having a quiet talk with his father, Howard. I’d call it one of the most human Tony moments in the whole saga. Nobody’s punching anything. A guy just gets to hear his dad talk about becoming a father.
That’s why a civilian Tony is an interesting call for Hot Toys. At sixth scale, without a helmet to hide behind, the likeness, the tailoring and the expression carry the whole figure. The thing I’m watching for in the full photo set is whether the face sells that mix of nerves and nostalgia from the Howard scene, or just gives us generic smirking Stark. We’ll update this when pricing and pre-order details go live.
