I’ll be honest: Hobgoblin has always been my favorite goblin, so I opened these photos with high hopes.

Why Hobgoblin Deserves His Own Shelf
Hobgoblin has spent decades being called the Green Goblin’s knockoff, which isn’t fair. Roderick Kingsley found Norman Osborn’s old gear, rebuilt it, gave it an orange hood and a cape, and turned out to be the smarter, colder schemer. A statue of him has to read as someone who planned all of this, not just a guy yelling on a glider. That’s the bar I’m holding this sculpt to.
Size, Weight and the 1:10 Footprint
The numbers are friendly for a shelf that’s already crowded. It measures 30 cm (appx. 12 in) tall, 22 cm (appx. 8.7 in) wide and 19 cm (appx. 7.4 in) deep, and it weighs 1.2 kg (appx. 2.6 lbs) with the base. That width matters to me, because Hobgoblin’s cape and pose usually push outward, and keeping him under 9 in wide means he can sit next to your other Iron Studios 1:10 Spider-Man villains without a shelf rebuild.
Paint and Sculpt: What I’m Watching
The hand-painted finish is where Hobgoblin lives or dies. Orange, blue and that sickly yellow-green skin can look like a cereal box if the shading is flat, so I’m looking at how the folds of the cape and hood hold shadow. Next to a Sideshow Premium Format, Iron Studios usually trades a bit of fabric texture for a lower price and a smaller footprint, and at 1:10 that trade usually makes sense. The photos show a prototype, though, and the final piece may differ, so I’m reserving judgment on the face paint until production shots appear.
The Honest Take on Price and Timing
At $255 for a limited edition, hand-painted Art Scale piece, the price sits right where Iron Studios 1:10 statues usually land, and I think it’s fair for a character this overdue. My open question is the edition size, which isn’t announced yet. The other thing is patience: October 2027 is eleven months out, and arrival may slip through March 2028, so pace your budget accordingly. We’ll update this when final production images go up.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Marvel has put at least three different men under that orange hood: Roderick Kingsley, Ned Leeds and Jason Macendale. The box never says which one, so for $255 I’m getting all three, which is $85 a Hobgoblin. Buy one supervillain, get two free.
How to tell your wife: Iron Studios ships him sometime between October and December 2027. If he lands in October, he’s our Halloween decoration, and if he lands in December, he’s my Christmas present from you. Either way, I’ve already done your shopping.
How to tell your parents: Dad, you always told me to read the instructions before starting anything. Norman Osborn jumped straight into the Goblin formula and lost his mind, while Roderick Kingsley studied every page of Norman’s journals first. I’m buying the Goblin who read the manual.
How to tell your kids: This is the Hobgoblin, and he carries a sack of pumpkin bombs that looks exactly like a trick-or-treat bag. So from now on, Dad checks every Halloween bag in this house for bombs before anyone eats anything. The chocolate ones look the most suspicious.
If you’ve ever argued that Hobgoblin is the better goblin, this 30 cm Art Scale statue is the first one in a while that takes him seriously as a lead villain. I’d lock in the pre-order, then keep an eye on production paint before the final payment comes due in late 2027.
