Hasbro is releasing a Star Wars The Black Series wave tied to the film The Mandalorian and Grogu. The 6-inch line covers The Mandalorian (Pagodon), a The Mandalorian & Grogu two-pack, Colonel Ward, two Imperial Remnant Stormtroopers, an Imperial Remnant AT-AT Driver and an Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver. Pricing and a firm release window weren’t listed in the source we reviewed. That’s the honest version.
The Star Wars The Black Series The Mandalorian and Grogu wave is a set of 6-inch action figures from Hasbro based on the Lucasfilm film. The Pagodon Mandalorian is numbered 45 in The Mandalorian line. We’ll update this article when retailers post price and pre-order dates.
Back to the Dusty Armor
The Pagodon Din recreates his first-episode look, hunting a Mythrol before he’d earned a single plate of Beskar. Hasbro gave him a new sculpt with proportions closer to the show, plus a fabric cape, the IB-94 blaster and a vibroknife. The weathering sits in the recesses of the helmet, so the dirt reads as travel wear. It fits a man with no clan support yet. Even the grav charge on his belt comes off and fits in his hand.
Father and Son, Polished
The two-pack flips the story. Din’s Beskar shines, the Mudhorn signet is raised in 3D on his right pauldron, and he carries a jetpack, a blaster, a vibroknife and a new longsword from the film. His cape now has torn holes. I like that. Grogu has a fixed seated body with neck, arm and ankle articulation, and his posture lets him ride in Din’s arm, which is the whole show in one pose.
The Amban phase-pulse blaster appears revised for the film, missing its forked muzzle. That’s a small change fans will notice.
The Remnant Looks Broke
The two Imperial Remnant Stormtroopers don’t share one dirt recipe. One wears a shoulder pauldron and chest bandolier with grime across the chest and abdomen. The other uses different stains and shows patch repairs on the left arm and shins, a quiet hint that supply lines collapsed with the Empire. Good storytelling in paint.
The AT-RT Driver layers several whites across armor and fabric, and a soft skirt keeps the hips free. The AT-AT Driver gets heavy upper-body weathering and an SE-14R pistol. Hot Toys still owns subtle grime at 1/6 scale. Hasbro’s mass-market version holds up better than I expected.
Sigourney Weaver Suits Up
Colonel Ward is a New Republic pilot who sends Din to the Outer Rim after Remnant forces and the Hutt Clan. Hasbro dresses her in orange X-wing flight gear with a removable printed helmet. The face print captures Weaver’s steady expression. She looks like she’s done this before.
The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: The Imperial Remnant handed Din a whole camtono of Beskar just to get Grogu. This two-pack gives me Grogu and the Beskar, already hammered into a Mandalorian, plus a jetpack and a longsword. The Empire overpaid.
How to tell your wife: In Mandalorian culture, when someone says ‘This is the Way,’ you don’t argue; you just say it back. I’m getting the Mandalorian and Grogu two-pack, and this is the Way. Your line, babe, is ‘This is the Way.’
How to tell your parents: You always told me to finish what I start. Hasbro printed one picture across the sides of these boxes, and it only shows up when you line up the whole set in order. You didn’t raise a quitter.
How to tell your kids: Grogu kept grabbing the silver ball off the ship’s controls, and Din kept putting it back. In this house, I’m Din, and these figures are the ball. Big eyes won’t work, kids; I’ve seen every episode.
The mismatched grime on two Stormtroopers tells me someone at Hasbro thought about what the Empire looks like when nobody’s paying for armor anymore. Grab the Pagodon Din if you miss the lonely bounty hunter, and the two-pack if you’ve already accepted he’s a dad.
