Bandai’s GASHAPON division is releasing パワーパフ ガールズ BIGカプキャラ (Powerpuff Girls BIG CAPCHARA), a capsule toy based on The Powerpuff Girls. It arrives in Japan in the fourth week of April 2026 at 500 yen per pull (appx. $3.30). The capsule itself becomes the toy. I like that a lot.
This is a set of four capsule figures from the CAPCHARA (カプキャラ) line, made by Bandai’s GASHAPON business unit. Each figure stands about 13 cm (appx. 5.1 in) and costs 500 yen (appx. $3.30) per pull. Release is scheduled for the fourth week of April 2026 in Japan.
The Capsule Is the Head
CAPCHARA’s whole trick is that the plastic shell you’d normally throw away becomes the character’s head. Here the round capsule matches Craig McCracken’s oversized, perfectly circular head design. You open it, click on the included body, and the girl sits there with her legs out. Few cartoon heads fit a capsule this neatly.

Built on the 2016 Reboot
The line uses the 2016 reboot designs, not the 1998 originals. That’s why Bliss is here, the older fourth sister the reboot introduced, next to Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Her flowing blue-green hair makes her the sculpt to watch. Her silhouette is the hardest to fit around a sphere.

Flat Color, Honest Volume
The show’s look is flat color and thick outlines, so the paint goes with clean solid fills instead of gradients. That’s the right call. Blossom’s red bow, Bubbles’ pigtails and Buttercup’s black flip read as solid sculpted masses, much like Medicom’s VCD and UDF figures keep cartoon shapes simple. The eyes carry most of the personality. Print alignment there decides everything.

The Open Question
The 500 yen price is fair for a 13 cm capsule figure, but four girls means four pulls at minimum. Duplicates are the real cost. Bandai hasn’t announced a set box or any overseas distribution. We’ll update this if export details surface.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Four girls at 500 yen a pull is 2,000 yen, if I’m lucky. But in 2016 the show added Bliss, a fourth sister nobody saw coming, so surprise sisters are officially canon in this family. A second Bubbles isn’t a duplicate; it’s a reboot.
How to tell your wife: Every Powerpuff Girl is made of sugar, spice and everything nice, and that’s exactly the recipe they used for you. So at 500 yen each, I’m basically buying four tiny portraits of my wife. You’re welcome, Buttercup.
How to tell your parents: Mom, you’ve saved every takeout container since 1998. Bandai finally made a 500 yen toy where the capsule turns into Blossom, so nothing ever gets thrown away. I’m just keeping containers, like you raised me.
How to tell your kids: These girls protect Townsville from Mojo Jojo, a monkey who’s always trying to grab things that aren’t his. You can look at them all day from the couch. Reach for the shelf without asking, and you’re Mojo Jojo.

Bliss alone makes this more than nostalgia bait, because the reboot’s most overlooked sister rarely gets plastic at all. At 500 yen, a capsule that becomes a perfect round head is the rare gashapon idea that suits its character this well.
