This release is an articulated collector figure of Edward Newgate produced by MegaHouse for the One Piece franchise. It is scheduled to ship between May 2027 and July 2027 at a retail price of $140. The piece measures 9.45 inches (24 cm) in height and belongs to the Variable Action Heroes series.
Scaling the Variable Action Heroes Frame
Standing at 9.45 inches (24 cm), this figure immediately establishes how MegaHouse handles stature across the Variable Action Heroes line. Typical releases in this scale sit closer to seven or eight inches, so giving Newgate nearly ten full inches gives his presence the room it deserves. The broad shoulder span matches the massive silhouette seen throughout Marineford, ensuring the joint cuts along the deltoids do not collapse the chest sculpt when you pose him. MegaHouse keeps the paint matte across the skin and bare chest, which keeps the figure looking like dense muscle rather than shiny molded plastic.
Articulated Weight and Finish
Balancing posability on top-heavy action figures is always tricky, especially when you compare the engineering to high-end benchmark articulated lines like Bandai Tamashii Nations S.H.Figuarts. MegaHouse relies on wide foot geometry and firm ankle pivots to support the substantial torso mass without forcing the figure into awkward, unnatural leans. The sculpt highlights the deep anatomy cuts and facial definition beneath that trademark crescent mustache, giving fans multiple facial expressions and replacement parts to swap between quiet contemplation and raw battle fury. Because the coat and joints are planned for movement, you can shift him from a museum stance into an earthquake-cracking punch without stressing the hips.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Whitebeard commanded sixteen distinct pirate divisions across the Grand Line without asking for a single coin in tribute. At a retail price of $140, securing this 9.45-inch patriarch works out to less than nine dollars per commander division. That is the cheapest pirate alliance in maritime history.
How to tell your wife: MegaHouse officially guarantees this earthquake-summoning pirate captain will not arrive to shatter our living room until at least May 2027. I gave you seven full months of advance written notice to prepare for his 9.45-inch arrival. You married a man who communicates perfectly.
How to tell your parents: You always taught me that true leaders prioritize building a loving family over amassing useless gold. Edward Newgate famously rejected legendary treasure just so he could adopt wayward sailors as his sons. I simply paid $140 to enroll in his advanced philanthropy seminar.
How to tell your kids: This 9.45-inch pirate captain ate a magical fruit that lets him shatter the air whenever someone touches his shelf. If you grab him without permission, he will summon a localized earthquake that permanently deletes your tablet’s internet connection. Keep your hands in your pockets.
If you want the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates commanding your shelf without sacrificing pose options, this release locks down that massive Marineford presence cleanly. The $140 price point delivers genuine scale and joint range for a character whose sheer bulk usually confines him to static resin statues.
