Good Smile Company brings the quick-witted palace herbalist to life with the Maomao 1/7 Scale Collectible Figure from The Apothecary Diaries. This painted PVC and ABS release carries an official price tag of $105. Sideshow currently lists the piece as a preorder scheduled to ship between August 2027 and October 2027.
Good Smile Company manufactures the Maomao 1/7 Scale Collectible Figure based on the anime series The Apothecary Diaries. The piece retails for $105 and stands 7.09 inches (18 cm) tall. Sideshow lists the release window between August 2027 and October 2027.
A Quiet Palace Scene in Three Dimensions
Most modern anime scales prioritize explosive battle stances, so seeing a sculptor commit entirely to a contemplative character beat is refreshing. Maomao sits perched on an ornate wooden chair, holding a solitary blue rose while gazing slightly downward with a wistful expression. Good Smile Company tuned the tilt of her head and the subtle placement of her bare feet to mirror a precise frame from the anime adaptation. The sculpted folds of her traditional green robes bunch naturally around her seated pose, giving the silhouette grounded weight rather than theatrical flair.
Herbalist Craft on the Display Shelf
Every great character piece needs environmental storytelling, and this release anchors itself through Maomao’s profession. Beside the chair sits her apothecary mortar, rendered with enough texture to suggest long hours spent grinding medicinal powders and testing dangerous poisons. The delicate blue rose in her grasp contrasts sharply against the rich wood tones of her seat and the muted fabric dyes of her dress. Good Smile Company handles these soft material transitions with the same clean paint division you expect from Alter or MegaHouse, ensuring the quiet palace interior translates across every inch.
Scale Proportions and Desktop Presence
Measuring 7.09 inches (18 cm) tall, the piece embraces standard 1/7 proportions while keeping its footprint compact enough for crowded display risers. Because Maomao is seated rather than standing tall, the volume concentrates into a dense, diorama-like cluster of furniture and fabric. You get the depth of a full vignette without needing half a glass shelf just to clear an oversized weapon or wide-reaching cape. It functions like an intimate frame clipped straight from the Imperial court.

The Collector’s Survival Guide: How to Justify This
The Collector Math: Maomao famously tests deadly imperial poisons on herself to identify the ingredients. At exactly $105 for this PVC apothecary, I am paying less than two dollars per toxin she can safely ingest. I am outsourcing my family healthcare.
How to tell your wife: Sideshow guarantees this 7.09-inch poison tester will not ship until at least August 2027, giving us ten full months to clear a sterilized medical laboratory in the living room. She needs an apothecary station by autumn. Move the toaster.
How to tell your parents: You always demanded I study rigorous pharmaceutical science instead of wasting time. This 7.09-inch court apothecary operates a professional mortar and safely identifies deadly imperial poisons. I am simply hosting a medical internship.
How to tell your kids: You may look at this 7.09-inch apothecary, but you absolutely cannot touch her mortar or her blue rose. She is actively testing deadly imperial poisons to keep our household safe from treason. One fingerprint compromises the antidote.
If you love the quiet intelligence and sarcastic charm of the rear palace’s favorite poison taster, this $105 vignette captures her personality without unnecessary display clutter. The inclusion of the sculpted mortar and classic blue rose makes it an essential anchor for any dedicated anime collection.
