This collaboration brings together the large-scale impact of the “GIGANTIC” line with the chibi-style realism of the “DEFOREAL” series, culminating in the release of the classic “Godzilla (1954) Black and White version” model. Priced at 25,850 Japanese Yen, this meticulously crafted figure is set to hit the shelves in April 2024.
The original Godzilla from the 1954 movie, also known as “Gojira” or the “Hydrogen Bomb Monster,” is a 20,000-ton, 50-meter-tall black behemoth from the deep sea. Believed to be a transitional creature evolving from an aquatic to a terrestrial lifeform, Godzilla’s habitat was destroyed by nuclear bomb tests, leading it to land with a vengeance against humanity. Impervious to tanks and missiles, its breath of high-temperature heat rays easily set Tokyo ablaze. Only Dr. Serizawa’s “Oxygen Destroyer” invention could reduce it to bones.
The “GIGANTIC × DEFOREAL Godzilla (1954) Black and White version” combines the impressive size of the GIGANTIC line with the charmingly realistic chibi style of the DEFOREAL series. This model dramatically scales up the original 13 cm DEFOREAL Godzilla to a substantial size of 24 cm in height and 39 cm in length. The model captures the iconic scene of Godzilla biting a train, a component that can be removed via interchangeable parts to display a more standard look.
